Day 19 | Cross Stitch Production Prep
My last days in India are all about making final production-quality products at Cross Stitch. Today was a big day of preparation.
Shavez and I spent the day touring Delhi’s (and South Asia’s) largest wholesale market with Sumit who leads the production at Cross Stitch. We made final selections of leather, ballistic nylon, foam, rivets, thread, and buckets. The market was similar to the one Shavez, Meribeny and I were at a few weeks ago. The 2 important differences was that it is larger and had some hard-to-find items. One was buckles.
We also found dark chocolate brown leather that I was searching for, and a metal upgrade for the plastic backpack strap adjusters. Having Sumit lead us to all the hard-to-find suppliers was truly a blessing – only someone with his unique set of experiences could have accomplished all that we did. As I reflect on the day, I have a sense of peace and confidence. Tomorrow we begin our initial product runs of the messenger bag, backpack, and sport bag.
Your prayers and support continue to bless this business as mission. -Brad
